Seasons 2004-2006: From French Farce to the 50th Anniversary

Between 2004 and 2006 the theatre ran its website on a portal system. Its pages were scattered across long, technical addresses, so the surviving content has been gathered here in date order. It covers a 2004 farce with full cast biographies, two 2004 children's shows, the 2005 children's season and the home page that announced the 50th anniversary season in 2006.

Archive page. The dates, prices and booking details below are historical and are kept for the record. The Apple Hill barn theatre closed in 2020, and phone numbers and email addresses from the original page have been removed.

2004 mainstage: In One Bed and Out the Other

In One Bed and Out the Other

In One Bed and Out the Other
A Comedy by Mawby Green and Ed Feilbert

Directed By Ron Ferrara

More bedlam from the authors of Pajama Tops . Gaston Dubois and his beautiful wife, Huguette are bored with the monotony of married bliss. Fidelity is strained when the quietude of their Paris apartment becomes the playground for would-be and ex-lovers. The mad capers reach an amazing peak of hilarity in when everyone land in bed with the wrong person or persons, including an uptight maiden aunt. “Leaves audiences limp with laughter.”
Pamela Farneth (Yvette)

This is Pam's fourth performance with Apple Hill. She was last seen playing Truvy in STEEL MAGNOLIAS, the Baroness in THE HOUSE OF Frankenstein, Vera in the female version of The Odd Couple, and Connie in the comedy Love Sex and the IRS last September.  She is the historian for the New Kensington Civic Theater and recently in their production of The Children's Hour where she played Karen Wright.  Pam says it was her most challenging, yet most satisfying role ever.  Of course she owes that to good coaching.  She has also been in their musical productions of Let Your Hair Down, Rapunzel as Witch Izwitch, Into the Woods as the stepmother, Charlottes Web as Martha Avery and The Sound of Music as one of the nuns.  Pam is married to Rick Farneth and they have 3 children; Austin, Kaylyn, and Brandon Skyler.

Stacie Hoffer (Rosine)

Stacie is pleased to be in another great production at Apple Hill. Stacie was last seen in New Kensington Civic Theatre's Dirty Work at the Crossroads.  Her favorite roles include playing Maria in NKCT's The Sound of Music, Tzeitel in AHP's Fiddler on the Roof, Sarah Brown in ACT's Guys and Dolls, and Jane Austin in GCT's Brigadoon.  She has also been seen in productions of Let Down your Hair, Rapunzel, Cabaret, The King and I, The Secret Garden, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wizard of Oz, and Bye-Bye Birdie.  In her free time, Stacie is a Fifth Grade Teacher for Highlands School District and she is a graduate student at Indiana University of PA working toward her master's degree in Elementary and Middle School Mathematics. Stacie would like to thank her family and friends for all their love and support.

Scott Ludwick (Gaston)

Scott has been active in community theatre since age 13, starting with McKeesport Little Theater, then numerous productions at White Barn Theatre, and then a hired position, at age 15, as both an actor and stage manager at the Holiday Inn Dinner Theatre on the Ridge in Irwin.  As a teenager, Scott also performed in a number of children’s theatre productions at Apple Hill Playhouse and Sherwood Forest Theatre.  As an adult, Scott continues to be active on stage, doing shows at Ligonier Theatre, Greensburg Civic Theatre, New Kensington Civic Theatre and, of course, Apple Hill Playhouse, his favorite since childhood.  You may remember Scott from some of Apple Hill’s zany Halloween shows or from his roles in Dial "M" for Murder and Murder at the Howard Johnson’s. Over the years, Scott has also appeared in many "made in Pittsburgh" commercials and films.

Nate Newell (Didien)

Originally from Havre, Montana is a recent graduate of Seton Hill University.  At SHU, he played many roles including: the Stage Manager in Our Town, Harry Witherspoon in Lucky Stiff and JB in JB.  Last fall, he joined the cast of Clue, The Musical here at Apple Hill and also performed in Isn’t It Romantic and Fiddler on the Roof.  He is excited to again share the stage with the fun-loving Apple Hill folks.  Thanks to my family, Missy, Cubbie, Ray, Kim and my other family for all their support and love.

Jaime Slavinsky (Clara)

Jaime is very excited to be working at Apple Hill for the second time.  She was last seen as Julie in Perfect Wedding.  With a Bachelor’s Degree in acting from Point Park College, Jaime has worked with many theatre companies in the Pittsburgh area including the Playhouse Repertory Company, City Theatre, Unseam’d Shakespeare Co., and most recently, Little Lake Theatre, in this summer’s, The Miss Firecracker Contest, among many others.  Some favorite roles include Maria in the world premiere of A Ritual of Faith, Melantho in the American premiere of Ithaka, Olive Madison in The Odd Couple, (female version) for McKeesport Little Theatre, and Tawnya in the locally produced independent film, Bindings.  Jaime looks forward to some new adventures in commercials and voice-overs and she hopes everyone has a fun evening at the theater! Godspeed!

Linda Stayer (Auntie Alice)

Linda Stayer has performed in local theaters in HANDY DANDY (Sister Molly Egan), A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (Domina), PERFECT WEDDING (Bride's Mother), MY FAIR LADY (Mrs. Pearce), ARSENIC AND OLD LACE (Martha), ANIMAL CRACKERS (Mrs. Rittenhouse) QUILTERS (Sarah), JERRY'S GIRLS, THE SECRET GARDEN (Martha), MINNIE'S BOYS (Mrs. McNish), GYPSY (Rose), THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD (Princess Puffer), INTO THE WOODS (Jack's Mother), SOMETHING'S AFOOT (Miss Tweed), and TWO BY TWO (Leah). She has also appeared professionally in Gargaro Productions' CRAZY FOR YOU (Mother), at Station Square in NUNSENSE and NUNSENSE II, and in eight musical revues for John Holt Productions, including LADY LEGENDS, WINE WOMEN AND SONG, DIVAS and TWO BELTERS AND A PIANO MAN. This is her "maiden voyage" on the stage at Apple Hill Playhouse! She would like to thank family and friends who give their love and support.

2004 children's theatre: The Somewhat True Tales of Robin Hood

The Somewhat True Tales of Robin Hood
by Mary Lynn Dobson

Robin, with the help of a Merry Man wannabe simply known as the Town’s Guy, turns this once-simple legend into a hysterical trip through Sherwood Forest. Our charming - but egotistical - hero leads his band of familiar wood-dwellers as they battle the delectably evil Prince John and his haughty henchman, the Sheriff of Nottingham. Robin’s one and only love, the Lady Marian remains true as she assists his crusade by wishing the prince and sheriff a rash of various skin afflictions. In the end, Robin discovers that even heroes have a few important life lessons to learn!  All shows at 11 AM.

2004 children's theatre: The Truly Remarkable Puss-In-Boots

The Truly Remarkable Puss-In-Boots

By Patricia Clapp

This play presents an arrogant, swaggering Puss who struts though a series of adventures which give his young master position, riches and a happily-ever-after curtain. The young master's two elder sisters scoff when their brother receives only a cat in their father's will, but this is no ordinary cat: it is Puss, the self-styled "truly remarkable cat!" The highlight is Puss' encounter with a most terrifying ogre whom he persuades to take on a mouse's form, ensuring the end of the ogre and the installation of princess, master and Puss in the late ogre's castle! All shows at 11 AM
